# Criterion C.7 - Consideration of other impact criteria in the decarbonisation strategy

While the Bilan Carbone® is a single-criterion climate exercise aimed at reducing organizations' GHG emissions, the transition to a lower-carbon model must not come at the expense of other environmental or social dimensions.

A coherent transition plan must therefore incorporate consideration of the related impacts that may result from the actions implemented: consumption of natural resources, waste generation, damage to biodiversity, local pollution, or other effects that can notably be quantified through life cycle assessment.

This broader approach aims to avoid impact transfers and to promote co-benefits between reducing GHG emissions and other sustainable development challenges.

It will be assessed whether the tool or approach enables users to raise awareness of these multi-criteria issues, and to identify, analyze and account for these other impacts — positive or negative — associated with reduction actions, so as to guarantee the overall coherence and sustainability of the transition plan.
