# Criterion D.1 - Transparency of methodology

The Bilan Carbone® method has evolved over the years. All these methodological developments, whether concerning the assumptions considered, the calculation "mechanics", the features, or the data used, have been made with full transparency. For this reason, candidate tools are expected to make these constituent elements of their solution accessible to users.

Furthermore, since the transparency approach serves the underlying objective of building users' skills on energy and climate issues, an assessment will also be made of the extent to which methodological elements (calculation mechanics, whether for the GHG estimation component or the quantification of actions, exclusion of a scope, estimation of avoided emissions if applicable, quantification of reduction targets, etc.) are accessible to the user.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.bilancarbone-conformite.com/compliance-framework/compliance-referentials/chapitre-d-transparence-de-la-methodologie-des-sources-et-formation/critere-d.1-transparence-de-la-methodologie.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
